Overview: Autumn Moon Stables is a role-playing site, meaning none of this is real. I won't give anybody credit for pictures of horses, but if the picture is of your actual horse and you want it taken off the site, PM me and I'll be happy to oblige.
Activity: Please remember that if you join, you absolutely must be active. If there's no activity on your account for one real month, I'll delete you. If you can't be on the Internet for over a month, PM me how long you'll be gone and I...won't delete you.
Rankings: Your rank may be found under your name in your mini-profile. Once you are a "Champion" in the game, you may have a custom title under your name. PM me the title you want (Example: Mine says "Stable Owner/Founder"). Once you are an "~Equestrian~" (the highest rank), I just might make you an admin - ONLY IF you have been courteous to me and your fellow members, if you have been active, participated in shows, and own at least one of your own horses.
Leasing/Buying: When you want to lease or buy a horse, PM me the name of the horse and, if you're leasing it, how long you want to lease it. If you have enough money, the horse will be yours for a certain amount of time (or forever, if you bought the horse). I'll make a barn for you and put the horse in it. From then on, it's up to you to update your barn and, if you want to, enter your horse(s) in shows or training. ~Make sure to check through everyone's barns to see if no other members are leasing the horse or have bought the horse. I sometimes forget to update! If the horse is in a member's barn, that's it - you can't lease or buy it until the member is gone or until their lease is up.~
Horse welfare: From your barn, you can "visit" your horses. Post under their profiles in their stalls to visit. Make sure you post on their health and well-being too. Sometimes a horse will get "sick" and won't be able to compete in shows or be entered into training until it gets well. Please post IN THE SUB-BOARDS, as those are where all your stuff is; I will create threads on the actual board prasing you (or not), or posting snippets of show commentary to give you an idea of what you need to work on.
Neglect: If you do not ride or care for your horse in three weeks or more, it will be taken to the Shelter and you will no longer own it. A horse from the Shelter may be bought (NOT by the previous owner) with a promise to pay special attention to it.
Gifts: Everybody will be given a few gifts now and then. Be happy.
Shows: Speaking of shows, I am not going to PM you or post the date of a show. I'll put it on the calendar or in the news fader. The calendar icon is at the top of the page under the main title bar. All horses that can be entered will automatically be entered. PM me if you don't want your horse to compete.
News: And speaking of the news fader, every time you come to the site, you should read the whole thing. It might give you some important info (ex: illness epidemics, tack shop sales, etc.)
Aging: All horses age a year each January 1 in the game. Sadness: Horses die. If your horse is 20 or over, get ready...Horses can also die from illnesses, like colic, or from riding accidents if you're competing in a show without proper qualifications. If you want to retire your elderly horse to prevent these things from happening, you can still breed from them (unless they're over 20), but you'll no longer be able to ride or compete with them.
This might all seem confusing now, but it'll get easier once you figure it all out.
By the way, whenever anybody uses the letters PM on this site, it stands for personal message, not the time of day.
And old members: POST IN YOUR RIDING ARENAS. Your horses need exercise, don't they? You can also invite another member to come ride with you in your arena (then you can both post there). If there's no posting or riding of a horse in three weeks, the horse will be taken to the Shelter and you will no longer be its owner.
